I awoke this morning to no noise in the house. Noise is a strong word, what I mean is there was no sounds of clanking dishes or pots and pans. No smell of coffee, the normal things I associate with morning as my wife who most of the time rises before I sets about her day.
Instead as I looked outside I saw my wife working away on our yard. For days she has been working on the landscaping of our home. She says she loves it. I personally would rather hire someone else to do it and watch them earn their wages.
But my wife, every place we have been she digs, plants, waters, digs some more....
And she is never done. We have owned four different homes since we came back from the Philippines. Every place we have lived Michelle has set her heart on working on the yard and the gardens. Sometimes right up until we sold our our homes to move on. She has planted rose bushes, walking gardens, arbors graced with vines. She has pruned and trimmed black berry bushes, set beautiful fountains in our yards, bird feeders and walking paths. I admire her for her love of gardening and horticulture.
Proverbs 31 speaks of having a wife of noble character and some of the characteristics are in the area of horticulture.
Proverbs 31:10-12, 16, 17: Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. 11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life...16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker.
I married well! I am rich beyond my wildest dreams. (And by the way, she is one of the best cooks in the world to me!)
Thank you Michelle for your incredible nature and character. You make our home a palace and our yard an arboretum!
"The journey to my forever home."
